Hope you all had a great time over the Xmas New Year and here's to a huge 2014.
Here's a couple of changes to our Portfolio that you need to know about.. MEDHURST WINES is our new Yarra Valley offering.. Toolangi move on www.medhurstwines.com.au As you may be aware for unavoidable reasons we will no longer be distributing Toolangi Wines. It’s been a great association with the Toolangi crew but we now move onto another superb vineyard from the Yarra, MEDHURST WINES. MEDHURST have 15 hectares planted, quantities are limited but the passion and care that goes into the wines is boundless. Matt Steel, the former chief winemaker at Domaine Chandon, has joined Medhurst to bring his extensive experience making the highest quality cool climate wines and ensure that the quality grown in the vineyard is expressed in the wines. As well as each of the varieties grown – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz – Medhurst makes a Rosé from its low cropped Cabernet and Shiraz fruit. The new state of the art winery has recently won the Victorian Architectural Award for commercial design. The winery features underground barrel storage and sits in harmony with it's hillside setting. A must visit next time you are in the Yarra. This is quality. I ahev just returned from Hobart and spent some time with the wonderful crew form Derwenet Estate. This stuff is going to go nuts up here.. here's the rundown. DERWENT ESTATE - Tasmania www.derwentestate.com.au Derwent Estate is on the north facing banks of the Derwent River, just 20kms from Hobart. Established in 1993, the Limestone based alluvial soils and the river setting provide a perfect micro-climate for the production of world class cool climate grapes and premium wine. Family operated, with 3 generations of family members currently involved in the business. Planted on the historic Mt Nassau property which has been in the current owner’s family since 1913. Planted to the ideally suited varieties of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris, Derwent Estate are now in a position to bring you the finest cool climate wines in Tasmania. The 2011 Pinot Noir has just picked up a Trophy and 2 Golds and there’s bound to be more to come. STOP PRESS - 2012 Chardy has just picked up a GOLD! HAllaluelahhhhh!!! but wait there's more! SERAFINO’S BELLISSIMO FIANO – WINS GOLD - Winemaker Charles Whish says: “It’s easy to see why Fiano has become so sought after, and we’re excited to have made such a great example first up. “The wine has a vibrant, bright fruit character with a rich, flavoursome palate that displays hints of honeysuckle and lemon citrus. It’s a brilliant food wine with plenty of freshness, good fruit weight and a really appealing texture.” SENSI COLIZIONE PINOT NOIR – Sticking with Sensi Wines from Tuscany but moving on from their Villa Calappiano Pinot Noir and stepping up a class with this Colizione (Collection) Pinot Noir. It just gets better. PAULETTS “C & E” RANGE – a Red (Cabernet blend) and White (Riesling) offering from Paulett Wines. The Cause & The Effect. From Paulett Wines “In the last 12 months alone we have donated over $8000 to local groups and anually we have donated over $10,000- to 'Bone Growth' the childrens cancer charity. Also the last two years we have participated in the 'Variety Bash', with Matt being on a team and in a car actively raising over $100,000- for their team. All achievements we are very proud of and wish to continue using the new product range C&E, see a cause & make an effect”. We’ll be out in the trade making sure you get to try some of these exciting new wines. Best for 14, Lach 0419 714 612 [email protected]
